Atlassian is increasing prices for Jira Service Management platform by about 5 to 10%, with the changes taking effect on October 16, 2024. In addition to increasing prices, some features are being moved from the Standard to Premium plan.
This price update will affect Atlassian’s entire suite of cloud subscription products, including Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie, Atlassian Guard, Bitbucket, and Compass. The changes apply to new purchases, renewals, and upgrades of existing subscriptions. However, any quotes generated before October 16, 2024, will still be honored at the old pricing until renewal.
Key Pricing Updates for Jira Service Management
The most notable changes are coming to Jira Service Management’s Premium and Enterprise plans, where Atlassian is introducing consumption-based pricing for Assets and Virtual Service Agent features. Customers on these plans will be able to store 50,000 Assets objects for free, with any additional objects costing $0.05 per object per month, with volume discounts available. Similarly, 1,000 Virtual Service Agent-assisted conversations per month will be included at no extra charge, with excess usage priced at $0.30 per conversation, also with volume discounts.
Atlassian will also be moving advanced incident, problem, and change management features out of the Free and Standard plans and into the Premium and Enterprise plans.
Atlassian explained that these updates are designed to give customers better transparency in tracking their usage of assets and service agents. The new consumption-based pricing model will allow organizations to pay based on actual usage, which could be particularly beneficial for companies with fluctuating usage.
