Docker is Increasing Subscription Prices for Pro and Team Plans

Docker has announced that it is increasing subscription prices for Pro and Team users.

Starting November 15, 2024, Pro subscribers will see their monthly cost rise from $5 to $9, while Team members will pay $15 per user, up from $9.

Docker says that it is increasing the price of the plans because of the hefty investments they have made in improving their platform.

For example, Docker Build Cloud, newly added to the Pro and Team plans, promises to speed up build times by up to 39x, thanks to native ARM and AMD cloud builders. Then there’s Docker Scout, which helps you catch security issues before they hit production.

Along with the price change comes a shift in how Docker handles its massive Docker Hub. For high-volume users, Docker is introducing limits on image pulls and storage. But, unless you’re in the top 3% of Docker Hub users, you probably won’t feel a thing. Docker Hub pull and storage limits will be rolling out on February 1, 2025.

Plans without price hikes

If you’re on Docker Business, no price hikes for you. Docker Personal also remains free, so individual devs and small teams can still use Docker without pay. For those sticking with the free tier, Docker promises continued improvements.

If you’re an existing customer, your new plan will take effect at your next renewal, so there’s still time to decide if this makes sense for you.

You can read more about the changes on Docker blog.
