PreSonus Announces New Price for Studio One Pro License, Introduces Upgrade Fees

PreSonus New Price for Studio One Pro License and Upgrades

PreSonus has announced that it will release Studio One Pro 7 on October 9th, 2024. The release comes with significant changes in pricing plans and upgrades.

For new customers, this is good news as the Studio One Pro 7 license will now cost $199.99, a significant drop in price from previous versions. However, existing customers who bought a Studio One 6 license at its full price-around $399-may feel disadvantaged as they will still be required to pay a yearly upgrade fee of $149.99 to access future updates.

Studio One Pro 7 Upgrade

PreSonus will be offering free updates for the first year after purchase when Studio One Pro 7 is released in October. This also applies to users who purchased Studio One 6 on or after August 1, 2024.

If you do not intend to upgrade, PreSonus says that you can continue using the DAW without losing your license, though you will not receive any new features or updates.

Studio One Pro 7 Features

In addition to the pricing adjustments, Studio One Pro 7 comes packed with all extensions and virtual instruments, including the Deep Flight One extended plug-in and the Batch Converter for audio processing.

PreSonus has promised to be releasing new features more consistently.

Discontinuation of Prime and Studio One Artist

One major change in the upcoming release is the discontinuation of the Prime and Studio One Artist versions, which means that free versions of the software will no longer be available.

Here is a YouTube video of PreSonus’s highlights on the future of Studio One.
