Starlink is upping its prices. In an email sent to customers starting September 11, 2024, Starlink announced that the cost of its roaming service will be increasing in Australia, the UK, Greece, and other countries. For Australians, the monthly price will jump from AUD 175 to 195, starting October 12, 2024. In Greece, the price will increase by EUR 72 while in the UK the price will be 96 euros.
Starlink says the price hike comes with the rollout of new features targeting travelers, including the ability to use Starlink on the move—whether you’re road-tripping, sailing along the coast, or traveling internationally. The email highlighted three key updates to Starlink Roam:
- In-Motion Use: Stay connected on the road.
- International Travel: Use Starlink across borders.
- Coastal Coverage: Better internet access for those near or on the water.
Starlink defends the price increase, citing the need to fund “ongoing network improvements” In other words, you’re paying more, but you’ll also be getting more, especially if you’re frequently on the move.
