Nomad Internet has announced changes to its subscription pricing, increasing the cost of its premium plan by 25%. Starting with the next billing cycle, modem rental users will see their monthly fee rise from $99.95 to $124.95.
The price increase is due to Nomad’s shift from one-time modem payments to a monthly rental payment. Previously, new users paid a one-time fee for their modems when they joined Nomad Internet. Now, instead of paying upfront, customers will pay a rental fee for the modems provided by the company.
Here’s how the new pricing structure breaks down, depending on the type of modem used with the Unlimited plan:
- $15 per month for the Omen modem
- $20 per month for the Air modem
- $25 per month for the Raptor modem
If you have already paid the one-time fee, Nomad Internet says it will credit your account and adjust the amounts based on the time you have used it. Customers will automatically be transitioned to the Premier Modem Rental plan.
However, if you prefer not to transition to the new rental pricing structure, you have the option to return the modem and your account will be closed.
Nomad Internet is currently facing stiff competition from Starlink Roam, with price becoming a key factor in determining which one to use. While Nomad Internet remains cheaper in terms of installation costs, it’s clear that price adjustments could influence customer choices in the future.
