Telstra has announced a 4% increase in prices across several internet plans, set to take effect on December 3, 2024.
Telstra notified subscribers via email, noting that the changes will impact both unlimited and limited data plans. You should expect monthly price hikes ranging from $2 to $4, depending on your current plan.
New Pricing for Unlimited Data Plans
Unlimited Data Basic Plan, which was previously priced at $85 for 25 Mbps speeds, has now increased to $89 per month.
Unlimited Data Essential Plan has increased from $100 to $105 per month, with speeds of 50 Mbps.
Limited Data Plans Pricing Changes
While some limited data plans have seen a price increase, Telstra has kept the pricing of its 5G Home Internet plan the same. However, speeds for the 5G plan have been reduced:
The 5G Home Internet previously had speeds of 548 Mbps download / 52 Mbps upload and is now 317 Mbps download / 36 Mbps upload.
For other limited plans, the new pricing changes are as follows, per month:
- Bundle Plan: $50 to $52 for 25GB of data
- Basic Plan: $62 to $65 for 50GB of data
- Essential Plan: $72 to $75 for 180GB of data
- Premium Plan: $95 to $99 for 300GB of data
Why the Increase
Telstra has indicated that it is increasing prices because of ongoing investments in performance, reliability, and security.
